Part-Time Bartenders

Phoenix Art Museum is looking for several Part-Time Bartenders to conduct beverage service at specified Museum functions and events.

JOB DUTIES
  1. Maintain a professional and positive attitude towards guests, members, volunteers, and staff.
  2. Provide an outstanding level of customer service to all event hosts and guests.
  3. Set-up and break down all Beverage equipment and supplies prior to and after all events that facilitate Beverage Service.
  4. At cash bars, accept payment for drinks and make proper change on all purchases.
  5. Declare all gratuities earned after every event in accordance with tax and labor laws.
  6. Observe all Museum rules and policies, and help in their enforcement.
  7. Observe and comply with all liquor laws and regulations, and maintain good knowledge of liquor products.
  8. Have the ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted repeatedly during a shift.
  9. Maintain a neat and professional appearance and wear appropriate attire to all events.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Minimum of one year experience as a bartender.
  3. Certification in Arizona Liquor Law Management Title 4 training

Knowledge of:

  1. Liquor laws and regulations.
  2. Liquor products.

Skill and ability to:

  1. Work many evenings and weekends.

Retail Sales Supervisor

Phoenix Art Museum is looking for a Retail Sales Supervisor to supervise all sales floor activity for the Retail Department by offering superior customer service, exceptional staff support and detailed product knowledge. Perform exemplary sales skills and tactics and sets an example for Retail Associates to do the same. Maintain daily operations of the sales floor and is the main point of contact with patrons ensuring an exceptional customer experience and outstanding lasting impression. Assist Retail Manager with merchandise receiving and visual displays.

JOB DUTIES
  1. Offer prompt and courteous service to Museum patrons; provide professional, knowledgeable sales help and advice; address customer concerns.
  2. Assist in staff training, performance management and incentive programs to assist in Retail Associate growth and engagement.
  3. Continuously perform as MOD monitoring the daily sales floor activity and working closely with the Retail Manager to consistently maintain customer service standards.
  4. Assist with Retail staff schedule, staff availability and requests for time off.
  5. Run daily stock reports; delegate staff sales floor responsibilities accordingly, completing the daily recap and task assignments.
  6. Execute merchandise receiving process by reconciling packing slips with invoice; receive purchase orders into Shopify POS system. Communicate discrepancies with vendors, and follow up to ensure credit memos are obtained and applied accurately to invoices. Process invoices for payment.
  7. Assist Retail Manager with initial merchandise product placement based on merchandise plan and product categories; merchandises and maintains product displays.
  8. Process, pack and ship online orders placed through Shopify POS system; address order concerns and shipping issues with customers.
  9. Conduct monthly supply checklist; order department supplies when necessary.
  10. Perform ongoing reviews of stock levels; identify trends and recommend appropriate reorders.
  11. Stay informed of Museum policies, promotions, activities, and upcoming events by proactively seeking out and obtaining information.
  12. Assist with annual physical inventory count and procedures.
  13. Answer routine customer questions, email, online, and phone inquiries.
  14. Perform all Retail Associate duties as needed; act as MOD during evenings, weekends and other special events as assigned by Retail Manager.
  15. Perform Retail Operations Supervisor duties in case of absence
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  1. High School graduate or equivalent, some college and interest in art, art history and/or museums preferred.
  2. Minimum one year’s experience in retail/customer service.
  3. Supervisor experience in retail/customer service preferred.

Knowledge of:

  1. Cash handling and cash handling procedures.

Skill and Ability to:

  1. Operate a POS system (Shopify preferred), proficient with Windows and Apple based programs
  2. Excellent customer service skills, highly organized, flexible, and detail oriented
  3. Communicate and interact effectively with a wide range of Museum members, visitors, volunteers, and staff
  4. Lift and/or carry 50 pounds, sometimes repeatedly, sometimes intermittently, during the course of a shift

Membership and Guest Services Associate

Phoenix Art Museum is looking for a Membership and Guest Services Associate through to greet and help Museum visitors with utmost courtesy and respect, answer visitors’ questions regarding the Museum’s collections, exhibitions, events, and facilities.

JOB DUTIES
  1. Report to work punctually, prepared for each scheduled shift.
  2. Ability to display courtesy and sensitivity in dealing with the public.
  3. Remain informed and answer questions regarding exhibitions and events at the Museum.
  4. Ability to operate the ticketing system to collect visitor’s admission fees and complete transactions.
  5. Actively promote Museum and Support Organization memberships to visitors. Assist patrons with membership application forms, and process Museum membership fees.
  6. Fulfill end of shift closing procedures and prepare appropriate documents.
  7. Keep brochure racks stocked and neatly organized. Assist visitors with finding information of interest.
  8. Communicate with staff and visitors in person or by telephone in a professional manner.
  9. Data entry.
  10. Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  1. High school graduate or equivalent.
  2. Minimum of one year experience in a customer services environment.

Knowledge of:

  1. Experience in cash handling and knowledge of cash handling procedures.
  2. Knowledge of the downtown Phoenix area is desirable.
  3. Knowledge and appreciation of art and/or museum operations desirable.

Skill and ability to:

  1. Have a neat, professional image and positive attitude.
  2. Strong computer (including problem solving) skills; Windows environment and data entry.
  3. Strong communication skills and ability to interact effectively with a wide range of Museum members, visitors, volunteers, and staff.

Major Gifts Officer

Phoenix Art Museum is looking for a Major Gifts Officer to build and manage a portfolio of individual and corporate prospects capable of making five-, six- and seven-figure investments in Phoenix Art Museum. Qualify, cultivate, and solicit new prospects, steward current individual donors, and corporate sponsors. Diplomatic, energetic, and organized; must possess excellent interpersonal, communication and written skills. Work effectively with diverse perspectives and personalities, and proactively network to identify new individual donors and corporate sponsors. Comfortable securing meetings, making in-person presentations and actively engaging prospects. This is a public-facing, active job for a skilled development professional who is passionate about the arts and who has extensive experience in securing major gifts, planned gifts, and corporate sponsorships. Must be willing to actively pitch-in and roll up one’s sleeves to help when necessary. Must be willing to assume other projects as needs arise.

JOB DUTIES
  1. Proactively seek and secure individual and corporate gifts.
  2. Collaborate with the Chief Advancement Officer, Senior Director of Development, senior Museum staff, Board of Trustees, and other key staff on strategies to engage new prospects.
  3. Steward long-term donor partnerships and strengthen existing relationships.
  4. Represent Phoenix Art Museum by attending events.
  5. Prepare individual proposals, corporate sponsorship proposals, and reports that tell the Museum’s story and align closely with the donor’s priorities.
  6. Prepare presentations, briefs, and other materials to engage prospective and current donors and to prepare volunteers, Museum leadership, and program staff for donor interactions—from research and strategy to execution.
  7. Work closely with Education, Curatorial, Finance, Guest Services, and External Affairs colleagues to prioritize organizational revenue needs and align them with individual donor interests and corporate funding opportunities.
  8. Maintain accurate and current records in donor database, including contact reports and other outreach.
  9. Adhere to the highest ethical standards and fundraising best practices, demonstrate perseverance, and have an optimistic and positive attitude.
  10. Ensure individual donors and corporate sponsors are properly stewarded, including securing and featuring logos, updating credit lines, and providing appropriate donor name placement. Work with the Museum’s External Affairs department to ensure the Museum’s website is updated in a timely fashion upon securing a sponsorship.
  11. Attend donor visits, tours, and presentations; manage other stewardship opportunities.
  12. Provide support and attend evening and weekend development events as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Bachelor’s degree required.
  2. Seven to ten years’ progressive non-profit fundraising experience with a proven track record of prospecting, cultivating, closing, and stewarding five-, six-, and seven-figure individual and corporate gifts, as well as securing planned gifts.
  3. Experience in arts and cultural organizations preferred.

Knowledge of:

  1. Database management, knowledge of Altru is a plus.
  2. Museum programs and practices, especially as they relate to individual giving and corporate support.
  3. Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  4. Persuasive communication with excellent presentation and listening skills.

Skill and ability to:

  1. Develop, maintain, and leverage relationships with external stakeholders.
  2. Successfully initiate contact with current and prospective donors through various channels of communication including but not limited to telephone communications (i.e. cold calls), personal interaction, and written communication.
  3. Commit to diversity and inclusion as a team player with a natural affinity for building close, effective working relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders and colleagues.
  4. Prioritize and multitask with the ability to plan, organize and accomplish multiple assignments concurrently while remaining highly motivated, energetic and enthusiastic.
  5. Travel throughout the Greater Phoenix Metro area, with possibility of some national travel.

Creative Media & Video Specialist

Phoenix Art Museum is looking for a Creative Media & Video Specialist to creatively bring together video, sound, animation, and graphics to tell dynamic stories across a variety of platforms for local, regional, and national audiences. Responsible for overseeing the planning, production, and editing of video-related projects to promote art, exhibitions, events, and brand-awareness initiatives for the Museum, as well as graphic design and production for digital communications. Work both independently and collaboratively with other team members across the Marketing and Communications departments, including creative specialists and communications strategists, to develop creative concepts that attract and retain audiences throughout a diverse community and to complete the various tasks necessary to deliver final content to support the Museum’s strategic goals, mission, and vision.

JOB DUTIES
  1. Create and edit video content for a variety of marketing applications and platforms, including advertising, social media artist interviews, exhibitions and installations, and other marketing needs, to increase awareness, engagement, and attendance.
  2. Participate in developing creative strategies, brainstorming, and storyboarding for video projects; plan, coordinate, and conduct filming both on- and off-site.
  3. Film content; trim footage segments; manipulate audio; input music, dialogue and voice-over, graphics, animations, and effects; and build videos in rough and final cuts during the production process.
  4. Identify and recommend creative direction on video sequencing, motion graphics, typography, and other dynamic elements to produce engaging and dynamic content.
  5. Create both static and animated graphics for use across digital marketing platforms, including website, social media, email, and on-site promotional screens; maintain on-site promotional screen scheduling and updates.
  6. Create and maintain B-roll video assets for general Museum promotions, including visitors engaging in galleries; attend special events to capture video content of visitors; and dynamically film artworks, exhibitions, visitor experiences, and Museum architecture.
  7. Collaborate with Marketing and Communications team members, curators, registrars, and digital asset manager to assure copyrights, media usage policies, and best practices are maintained in all image and video assets.
  8. Oversee upkeep and maintenance of the Museum’s YouTube channel.
  9. Oversee file formatting and storage, and other duties as needed to ensure effective production, organization, and archiving of digital assets.
  10. Oversee equipment upkeep and use of filming and audio recording equipment; recommend equipment updates as needed.
  11. Prepare copy and graphics, manage mailing lists and distribution, and maintain calendar for email marketing and communications campaigns in MailChimp, including e-newsletters and promotional emails for the general public, Members, and donor events.
  12. Assist in updating image and video content, implementing copy edits, and liaising with contract web developers to support the Museum website.
  13. Collaborate cross-departmentally with Membership, Development, Education, Curatorial, and other colleagues to ideate how to effectively fulfill marketing and communications requests.
  14. Assist with processing invoices, purchase orders, and monthly expense reconciliation for the department.
  15. Work dynamically to build relationships, prioritize and accomplish multiple projects concurrently, problem solve and adapt, and learn on the fly.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Associate degree required. Bachelor’s degree preferred in fine arts, graphic design, video production, film, or related field.
  2. Minimum two years’ professional work experience in creative role with video production and editing, multimedia content creation, graphic design, photography, and project management.

Knowledge of:

  1. Digital video technology and equipment, and editing software packages (e.g., Premiere, AfterEffects, and Final Cut).
  2. Graphic design software (e.g. Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator).
  3. MailChimp or other email marketing platform.
  4. WordPress or other website content management systems.
  5. Microsoft Office.

Skill and Ability to:

  1. Manage multiple projects under deadline.
  2. Exhibit strong communication and organizational skills, with significant attention to detail.
